City of Good Neighbors: Seven Seas Featured On Channel 2
On Saturday, August 28, Seven Seas Sailing School was featured on Channel 2's Daybreak. The report, highlighting our community sail programs and the inclusive nature of our club, dubbed us one of the Queen City's "Good Neighbors."
Pick a week in September to start, and Learn to Sail!! It's a great 40th season here at Seven Seas, and it's not over yet! We're enrolling new students each and every week through September, and will be sailing into October.
Now is a great time to learn to sail. No experience necessary. For just $299 per person, recieve seven two-hour sessions (or more, as needed, at no extra charge) and you will graduate. Then, you are free to rent our boats! Our Coast Guard-licensed captains will guide you each step of the way.
And for everyone, novices to pros, we are continuing to host the weekly Friday Night Sailabrations (open to the public), where just $25 grants you two hours of sailing fun followed by a sumptuous barbeque, fun and fireworks!

About Us
Welcome to the Seven Seas Sailing Center, a non-profit sailing center located on beautiful Lake Erie in the city of Buffalo, NY. We will help you begin a lifelong celebration of our waterfront by learning to sail. From sailing classes for all skill levels, to educational field trips and community building activities, our center has something for everyone.
Seven Seas Sailing was founded in 1970 by a Buffalo school teacher and former Seas Scout, who now resides in Florida and continues to teach sailing. In the mid-1990's, the M.A.I.N. Foundation, under the direction of Bill Zimmerman, relocated the school to its current home at RCR Marina. Many of the volunteers and instructors have been with us for more than 20 years.
Whether you're a novice or an expert, Seven Seas has the sailing program to fit your needs. We can teach everything you need to know, from the basics to advanced marine navigation and racing. If you're already a pro, then we've got rentalable boats available to get you out on the water quickly! Take a look at our course descriptions to determine which is right for you:
Introduction to Sailing - Basic Keelboat In this course, you will develop the skills necessary to safely operate a vessel in the 20'-30' range. Upon completion of the class you will be permitted to rent one of the Seven Seas boats without an instructor.
Advanced Sailing - Cruising This class focuses on the skills necessary to operate a larger boat. The class will be taught on a Catalina 32' vessel. We will concentrate on the skills needed to operate the craft safely and be bale to sail longer distances. Completion of Introduction to Sailing is required prior to taking this advanced class.
